How we do business
Culture and values
Alfa Laval’s success is founded on being a company that holds true to its values. These are the fundamental beliefs and principles that guide our behaviour and how we act and lead. They influence the way we interact with others, make choices and set priorities. And they have developed over more than 140 years.
Making the most of what we have is more important than ever. We rise to this challenge as a team united by dedication, respect, and a spirit of exploration.
“Our values should be a reflection of who we are and what we believe in"
CEO Tom Erixon
Business principles - a matter of trust
Alfa Laval is committed to doing business in an ethical and transparent way and also expects this of business partners. The Alfa Laval Business Principles set out fundamental rules of behaviour that all employees should adhere to when conducting business.
Zero-Tolerance to Corruption
At Alfa Laval, we recognize that reducing bribery and corruption risks is essential for sustainable development. By operating with integrity, we ensure that we meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.
Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption
Our commitment to business integrity is reflected in our robust Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) program. Guided by our Business Principles, we strive to achieve our goals while maintaining the highest standards of societal conduct.
Zero-Tolerance Stance: Alfa Laval adopts a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption. Our ABAC program is meticulously designed to align with the six steps of the UK Bribery Act, utilizing a "prevent, detect, and correct" methodology.
Risk Assessments: We conduct annual risk assessments and analyze mitigation actions to ensure comprehensive protection against bribery and corruption. Tools such as the Transparency International Bribery Risk Perception Index help us evaluate geographic risks effectively.
Training and Education: Increasing awareness and understanding is vital. We provide mandatory training for employees, which is refreshed every two years, ensuring continuous education and vigilance.
Report a concern
We encourage all stakeholders to report any suspected misconduct through WhistleB, Whistleblowing centre, our external and independent whistleblowing system. Whistle B ensures anonymous reporting of behaviour or actions that may violate the law, regulations or Alfa Laval’s Business Principles.
